Put Your Film in the Spotlight:
Marketing Tips that Work

1. Be Prepared: Always be ready to talk about your project and all its merits. Understand that you may have just a few moments to tell your new contact about the film and ask for their help in getting the word out. Be brief, be engaging, and be professional. Make sure your website, Myspace, Facebook, LinkedIn, business card or other promotional tools are up to date..

2. Make the Connection: If you make a new contact be sure to get their contact information (e-mail, website, telephone) and give them yours. Don’t assume the friend of a friend who put you in contact will do so again.

Celebrating African Film

The producers of the Big Bang Film Festival are pleased to present the first annual Timbal Fest. This project, Timbal Fest, came about in part from our desire to give more filmmakers an opportunity to participate in the festival experience. We are working with local organizations to help absorb costs so we could eliminate the entry fees typically associated with film submissions. One of our community partners, the Broad Street Ministries building, is making their screening room available for the event. This gives us a large downtown venue on the “Avenue of the Arts” within 1 block of two local colleges. We’ll continue building partnerships here and abroad to reach more filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

Call For Submissions

We are accepting submissions until Monday, May 5th. We are looking for films by African filmmakers and/or set in Africa. Each filmmaker may submit only one project for review. Each filmmaker may submit only one project for review. There is no entry fee for submissions. The screening schedule will be announced by May 19th. Download the entry form below.
